Whangarei Heads School is located 30km east of Whangarei, surrounded by bush and situated on the lower slopes of Mount Manaia, overlooking the entrance to Whangarei Harbour. The school was established in 1858 and is the second oldest school in New Zealand, and has a proud history of serving its community. It serves a supportive and active rural and coastal community. We are a full primary school which also adds to our special character.
